4 Reasons Why You Deserve Something Shiny And New

You-dont-need-an-excuse-to-make-these-beauties-your-own

We all love jewellery. They brighten up outfits, boost self-esteem and add a little sparkle to our days! Often, jewellery purchases are confined to special occasions – and they almost always come from someone else. But why not buy your own? If you want diamonds, you should buy diamonds – it’s as simple as that.

Below, we have four reasons as to why you should treat yourself this winter – no special occasion needed!

Because you’re a great friend
You are a great listener, are always there when a friend needs you and have always had copious amounts of chocolate on hand as and when your friends need it. If you are nodding your head (modestly, of course!), then you deserve something special. Have you had your eye on a new pair of earrings or a little charm for your bracelet? Treat yourself!

Because you are a great mother/wife
No matter whether you’re a brand new mum or grappling with three teens, you deserve something to remind you of how special you are. The same goes for marriage – it isn’t always easy, and you still deserve a little independence, so why not come instore and pick out something beautiful?

Because you do a great job at work
Your hard work may go unnoticed on occasion, but that doesn’t stop you from bringing that quality to the office day after day. It can be difficult sometimes, but by pushing past obstacles you are proving to be a valuable member of your team. Don’t wait to be rewarded by your boss – take matters into your own hands, spoil yourself on your lunch break and do some online shopping.

Because you don’t need a reason!
If you have the means, then you have the reason to purchase something fresh and beautiful for yourself – no excuses necessary! If it’s been a while since you last treated yourself to something pretty then don’t wait another day. Perk yourself up with something that will make your face or fingers pop.

Jewellery Trends To Look Out For This Spring

Spring sees a number of bold jewellery trends taking to the runway. Get inspiration from top designers around the world and incorporate these looks into your outfits.

Mixing gems and crystals

This spring designers didn’t hold back when accessorising, frequently adorning the models with crystals in a range of colours, shapes and sizes. Often, the gems were stacked, giving a very embellished and extravagant look. Givenchy, Christian Dior, Christopher Kane and Oscar de la Renta were all leaders of this trend.

Big links

Sizeable, chunky linked necklaces were out on the catwalk this season, with designers such as Valentino and Rodarthe pairing their garments with statement chains. This is a very wearable look that you can easily re-create that will still make an impact. If you want to venture into the world of big links slowly, opt for a single strand with a short chain.

Beautifully clear

Clear crystals were all over the catwalks this spring season. Often graphic shapes such as birds and stars, or just classic strings of beads, were used by the likes of Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten and Rochas.

Wonderful watches

Watches were used as statement jewellery pieces by designers such as Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, and Nina Ricci. Burberry watches were elegant and encrusted with gems, while the ones seen on the Miu Miu runway were graphic and futuristic.

Glorious gold

Gold is timeless and classic, and this season it is out in force, with fashionistas using it to create an impact with statement necklaces. Altuzarra released a gorgeous piece that had a circular structure with two spirals that rest on the collarbone, while Balmain brought together the trends of gold and big links with shiny linked choker necklaces. Alternatively, stack up wide gold bangles and channel Alexander McQueen.

Bright and graphic

Another bold trend that’s also very wearable is the what has been dubbed ‘Primary School’. Draw inspiration from designers such as Chanel and Celine and pick pieces that have one or two bright colours and play with clean and vivid shapes. Think big bangles, and don’t be afraid to stack them up!
